Secondary (10th standard):

secondary course is equal to 10th standard in the quality of education. All the students are allowed to choose the subjects but learning of basic five subjects is compulsory.

NIOS is a self-governing organization which was set up by the ministry of human resource development in the year 1989, and this open learning policy was from the national education policy.
