This University was established in the year 1997.It came into existence below the act of Punjab Technical University Act, 1996.It has 9 affiliated colleges at first but, the number of colleges have been increasing and now it has over 100 colleges affiliated to the university,140 Management and Computer Application programs,38 Pharmacy Education organizations and 22 regional centers for course M.tech.
