Bharathidasan University was established in February 1982, and was named after the great well-known Tamil Poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1968). The Bharathidasan University is mainly emphases on the motto of “We will create a brave new world".University has totally, 4 Faculties, 16 Schools, 11 Specialized Research Centers and 34 Departments. There are 195 faculty members teaching to 2372 students and scholars in the University. The University Departments are offering courses including 40 PG programs in M.A., M.Sc., and M.Tech. The above programs are lead under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in Semesters, there are many courses such that 19 P.G. Diploma, 33 Ph.D., 10 Certificates and 11 Diplomas and 31 M.Phil.
